Testimonials7/13/07 Jeff, We received the controller right after lunch today. Thanks for superior service, we hadn't expected to get till Monday at the earliest. BZ mentioned that you are totally off-grid. You might consider putting that on your web-site. We sometimes deal with Backwoods just because of their experience and expertise from being off-grid. Again thanks so much and we'll keep on eye on your website for more deals. We will highly recommend you to friends looking for alternative energy. Please feel free to post this e-mail to your web-site (minus our name). P.S. XXX just got the controller installed and running. You might also advertise the 500 display can be hook up remotely. Sincerely, XXX and XXXXXX XXXXX. ************************************************************************************************************ 8/23/10 Hi Jeff Thanks for the recommending wiring my supplementary SSR to the FET's output in my Whisper dump (now a secondary dump, your charge controller being the primary dump) . This would avoid any risk of overloading the driving transistor which switcheses the FET's
You asked for an update on the performance of the charge controller.
I installed your MODEL 1URDC 12V charge controller about a week ago but had to wait for a couple of days of continuous wind to get my battery bank up to dump voltage.
Once at dump voltage it did exactly exactly as programmed. I especially like the precise voltage regulation when set to SSR mode.
All other functions i.e. voltage display by differentially flashing, light emitting diodes, test mode and equalization mode worked exactly as as the instruction manual indicated they would.
My battery bank has not yet reached equalization voltage and may not get there before the wind dies but I have no doubt it will perform as programmed given prolonged charging winds.
After a few more weeks of satisfactory testing, I will be ordering another (one or two) charge controllers. Is your next generation model ready for sale at this time? If so I will be ordering one old and one new.
